This sprawling 24 Hectare farm is nestled in a quite rural of Mata Platano valley and has over 10,000 cacao trees. The farm produces and packages its own chocolate and branded products on site. The owner has all the necessary modern equipment and machines included in the sales price to produce chocolate and even is producing chocolate ice cream. The property includes a two-bedroom apartment and a one-bedroom staff quarter. There are some permaculture activities on the premises like composting of the cacao.

Acquired back in 2008, the family has worked throughout these 24 hectares of land to maintain and protect its beauty and wildlife. In 2009 they began introducing native cocoa as just a small hobby, now to date, this orchard has grown to over 10000 Cacao plants. Within the boundaries of our family farm lives both a large troop of capuchin and spider MONKEYS, and regardless of our attempts to stop them these monkey troops raid our orchard to eat their fill of precious cocoa fruit and generally they manage to consume near 40% of our annual yields. Our only defense weapon consists in rolling up the ripe beans one by one with nets trying to discourage the sweet monkeys so we have lovingly nicknamed them the “GREEDY MONKEY” or “LA MONA GOLOSA”.

At the center of the operation there is a modern visitor’s center, and tourists can witness the complete process of producing artisanal chocolate. The farm also grows vanilla, plantains, bananas for additional income. The farm also has cows, goats, chickens, and various other farm animals. In the surrounding jungle, there is an abundance of local wildlife in the area include Monkey’s, Crocodiles, and a variety of tropical birds.
