Welcome to El Paraiso Azul, an iconic Eco-Lodge located on the prestigious Perezoso Road in the sought-after village of Ojochal de Osa famous for its friendly locals, large international ex-pat community, wilderness and views, fantastic restaurants and incredible beaches.
The lodge rests atop the first ridge above the ocean, a high-demand location speckled with restaurants and estate homes which overlook the Pacific and, on the other side, offer majestic mountain vistas.

And speaking of the views…they are SPECTACULAR…. one could even say jaw-dropping! The flat Pacific Ocean horizon extends from left to right, meeting the Costa Rican coast just 300 metres away from the lodge – you can see and hear the waves! On your right you see the vast expanse of the ocean while on your left is a maze of protected sandbars, islands and mangroves that make up the vast Terraba River delta.
This is the longest river in Central America and one of its delta arms enters the ocean ‘front and centre’ of the lodge – the waters of the river meet the power of the Pacific creating very interesting wave patterns that change with the tides.
The Terraba River separates Isla Garza from the mainland. The island offers 17 kilometers of wild, natural and pristine ocean-facing beaches. It is just under 900m from the property and is accessible by a quick water taxi ride from the nearby oceanside settlement. On the riverside you can experience the incredible mangroves and related wildlife in a kayak or boat, touring to photograph numerous species of birds, monkeys, and parrots as well as caimans and possibly crocodiles too!
Once back from your adventures you have the best seat in the house for the nightly crimson sunset show – you can watch the sun descend into the waters of the Pacific while you relax in the pool or sip a mimosa on the deck adjacent to the restaurant!
